The Midnight Horse Show
...She Touched Me That Night & Made Me
Realize How Good Life Can Be with The
Right Friend...
Daniel Webster Once Observed,
There Is Nothing So Powerful As
Truth and Often Nothing So
Strange....
As a team, we exist for the betterment of those horses that call Kamwulfe Farms their final
home before leaving this world, and that simple statement is what drives our entire team every
day. For we are no better than the ones we serve and those we choose to call our friends.
The Midnight Horse Show is not about the host, it’s not about the writers and or the producers
nor is it about egos. Rather, it's about all the horses that make this program worth doing. It’s
about a big chestnut called Ace who came to the farm as a last resort before being destroyed.
It's about the pain we all felt when he lost his eye to a terrible decease after five years of
fighting. And it was the agony we all felt while writing and producing his story - "The Big
Chestnut".
It’s about a head strong young boy called Wulfegang. A big boy who was born at the farm and
whose is now the resident clown and every ones favorite. And it’s about an old Mare named Lady
Ashley that was targeted to end her days on earth at a riding stable being jerked around by city
cowboys, drunks and spoiled kids just out for a good time. It's about how everyone fell in love
with her the moment she stepped out of the trailer and walked into the farm and every ones
hearts. And at the end of a hard day, a day filled with new visions and hard physical labor, it’s the
feeling one receives when you look into two big brown eyes every day - knowing deep down in your
soul you make a difference in a creatures life – a big animal that gives far more than they take.
We do not have "Personalities" on the show, the farm or at the production company. We do not
have stars – at least two legged ones. For you see, we all check our egos at the door every
morning at 5 am when we arrive to work and if you have enough energy left at 11 PM when we leave,
then you can pick it up on the way home. And every once in a while someone will display a little lack
of self control and sure enough, one of the big stallions or one of the rank mares will let them
know when they are a little to big for their britches.
The web site, the program and the ranch echo the undying love some humans have for these big
creatures. We stand in their presence and we are left speechless. We gaze upon them in the
pastures and we are left to wonder why. Why do these big creatures accept us - why have they
befriended us humble humans and why does it hurt so much when we lose one? But more
importantly, what can we do to make their lives more enjoyable - for once a horse touches your
soul - you are then - "Truly Blessed".
So, if you are a horse owner, a horse lover or just a kind hearted human – we invite you to set back
and enjoy an emotional ride. Some shows will rip your heart out while others – well – they will make
you smile. And some may just take you back in time when life was indeed simple and pure and when
you were full of energy and had so many great plans for your future.
For those kindhearted souls that have the courage to come and spend two weeks or a summer with
us at Kamwulfe Farms - when they leave - their lives are changed forever – again.
Synopsis for – New Moon Rising…It Was The Right Hand of Fate....
A powerful story of second chances and hearts in motion that follows an old man’s (Shawn McVeigh)
life from college to the gates of heaven. With the passage of time, he becomes spiritually
exhausted and physically depleted after a brilliant yet unfulfilled career as a broadcast television
network executive. As his career nears the end, McVeigh finally admits, he can no longer continue
down a path void of passion and absent of scruples. Against all odds and better judgment, McVeigh
walks away from his prestigious position and financial security to return to his childhood home in
east-central California. Although, still carrying strong emotional and passionate feelings scattered
over years of broken dreams for his only true love in life (Terri King), McVeigh sets out to follow
a childhood dream of converting the family ranch into a sanctuary for the old and unwanted from
both species. One morning while at the local feed mill, McVeigh comes to the rescue of a young
Spanish child (Sandra Moncatta) who was in need of protection from a mob of local redneck boys.
Two weeks later, young Sandra walks five miles to speak to the old man at his ranch when she asks
for an opportunity, a job so she may learn about horses and their infectious ways. Impressed with
her moxie and captivated by her tenacity, young Sandra is hired as a trainee and begins the task of
learning the ways of the horse whisper as she captures an old man’s heart. As fate would have it,
years later Sandra’s Mother (Deloris Moncatta) succumbs to adrenal cancer, but before she
passes away she asks McVeigh to adopt her only daughter and care for her as if she was his own
child. As time passes, Sandra begins college and meets a young man of exceptional honor (Denny O’
Brien) and romance blossoms with such passion and honesty – it was spontaneous combustion at
hello. When Sandra marries the now Marine Fighter Pilot Lieutenant O’Brien, McVeigh’s old heart
is once again broken with the impending loss of his only daughter and the little girl who captured
his old heart so many years before. Then from out of the misty blue fog, a young child (Marisol
Garcia), who lives in silence, comes to the ranch seeking no more than an equal opportunity to prove
herself and her merits. In a mere blink of an eye, she begins her journey through life, a life that
touches the souls of all those who called Kamwulfe Ranch & Sanctuary their final home. With time
running out for the old man, decisions are made and events are set in motion that will insure the
existence of the ranch & sanctuary for another one hundred years. As the end approaches, a new
love (Katrina Ryan) comes into McVeigh’s life and makes his final years and painful transition to the
next place a simple journey, because his old heart is once again pure and his final mission in this life
is now completed with honor and resolve.
